Womens 1st XI vs Upminster 3

Romford Ladies 1s faced Upminster on a chilly yet sunny Saturday morning. The weather was perfect for some intense hockey action.

Romford started off well, making excellent use of the width and executing impressive plays down the right side. While Upminster made a few promising runs, Romford's defence stood strong, denying any significant breakthroughs. Sonata had some great dribbling skills, leading the team to play hockey dominantly in the Upminster quarter.

Towards the end of the first half, Ellie fed Kemi a superb ball which led to a fantastic run down the right, reaching the baseline and scoring a great goal from just inside the D!

Quick positive chat from coach at half time. The second half saw Romford's solid defence and midfield in action while Upminster continued to apply pressure. Fortunately, the use of rolling substitutions provided constant fresh legs, helping the team maintain their energy levels. Romford midfield worked tirelessly to support both defense and forwards, ensuring smooth ball passing throughout the match. Some great passes from Katie to our centre forwards lead to Romford getting a short corner. Lorraine took straight strike from top of the D and couldn't of got closer to the post if she tried. Upminster had a few chances, and some short corners which our defence and outstanding keeper managed to keep out of the goal.

Lisa did some great saves throughout the match and throughly deserved her MOM award and Romford deserved the 3 points with a 1-0 Win.
